914World Classifieds Rules
We've established the following rules to help make your sales/purchases as successful as possible!
- Please List WTB:, FS:, TRADE: etc (want to buy, for sale, and trade respectively) before your add title.
- You *must* put a price in your ad and state how you would like payment!
- If you'd like to bump your ads, feel free to do so every two days.
- DO NOT MAKE YOUR ADS IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS! It's considered rude.
- All eBay ads belong in the eBay category.
- Please consolidate your ads into one big lump... listings and pictures together in one thread. Please be considerate of other classified users!!
- Mark your items "SOLD" once you sell them. Please do not ask to have ads removed. Ads will automatically hide themselves after 30 days. We also ask that you leave your pricing in the ads to help others determine fair market value for future sales.

It is now the same price for 1 oz to 1lb, SO keep that cost in mind when figuring shipping costs. Nothing like paying for phantom weight. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

Also, the USPS priority flat rate box can be your friend - ""If it fits, its ships."
Always compare the Advantage Plus rate (size/weight) to the Priority Flat rate and keep in mind that they both include $100 insurance. As to getting paid if it gets damage ("You didn't pack it right.") or doesn't arrive is another question - ;>) |

Ive sent padded envelopes with similar parts several times…….cost $5 and change. Today I did what i would say was the same at …….…$7.92. Just putting in real numbers (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stirthepot.gif) |

It obviously went up too, but I think it’s less expensive than directly with USPS. |

Last month my FedEx bill was $1800 and that didn’t include shipping two engines down to Texas for $850 each once I added in insurance. Then there was the $800 charge each way to send a chassis for chemical dip.

All I use is Pirateship.com for the discount. Padded envelopes and tape have gone up too.

The padded envelope was directly with USPS……Never thought about using Pirate….so could be some relief.

USPS took over one week to send a registered letter 15 miles in my state. That was just last week. No wonder they lose $5 billion a year.

One point of clarity. For ground advantage. the 1 pound minimum only applies to items shipped to zip codes USPS considers rural. If you are shipping to an urban zip the 4/8/12 ounce thresholds still apply. Rates overall still suck but keep this in mind when shipping light items

Not happy with the Post Office but I get it. It is a business and it has to change for our times or die. I ship a lot via USPS. As long as it fits in their box, up to 70 lbs, Priority Mail is a good deal.
I also use USPS International Priority Mail for shipping out of the country ... also a good deal (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) |
