I have only 2 correct backpad lights left out of 20+ years of collecting. I have a NOS unit which is missing a corner, and a used unit missing a corner and some light heat damage from the bulb. I would take $50 shipped for the damaged used unit. Attached Image

Could you supply more photos of both of them that include the backside of the light and the clip features?

Price for 1 is 150 Dollars, including shipping in Germany.
They are NOS. But in the years they lay arround there maybe be here and there a very!!!! little!! scratch ore something to see with a magnifying glass. ;-)

$150 is totally fair price for a NOS unit. I wish I had an extra $150 at the moment as I would take one for the 914-6. You can setup a free account at MyGermany.com to get items forwarded at near cost via DHL/UPS/Fedex. I can post more pictures later of my used units.

$150 is a fantastic price. Would get one but just got one last month from a member here; Ccommunications and shipping a lot easier than from Germany these days!

Hello to everyone,

I made a Decision at my own. I think, I don't want to send a light to USA. I don't want to get stressed either.
So I'm verry sorry!!!! But in moment, it seems everything is very tricky with our world...

Thank you!!!

@HaraldD

If you change you mind I would be happy to buy these two and get them to the right 914 owners here in the USA. Should be easy enough to ship them.

Now do the ones he's selling have the HELLA & VW logo along with the "made in Germany " molded into the clear plastic lense on the inside ??? Don't look like it to me. Porsche must have had a lot of different vendor suppliers for these.

I found another but both are damaged in some way. The one without a chip has some crazing in the middle section.

He's selling Sidler brand lights.
The name can be seen in the middle of the face.
They are the same in appearance and function as a Hella.
This one is available, not perfect but very presentable.
$150. including shipping

WORD OF CAUTION: Be very careful installing ANY version of the OEM lights. The slightest pressure on the light, they WILL crack in the center. OLD style plastic is brittle.

In addition, I recommend using a led bulb. I’ve seen a lot of melted oem lights because either the oem bulb runs hot or what people are using to replace the oem bulb runs hot. Either way, a led bulb is a safe solution for your expensive and difficult to replace light housing.

These are great deals … IIRC we paid $350 for a Hella version in its original box…. Not sure what to do with it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) sits in a case along with other weird rare NOS parts… like artwork (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Have to ask a dumb question; were these $150 lights used in VWs back in the day?
Just trying to understand how we ended up here (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
