It's time to thin the herd a bit more. I had planned to flip this 914 after getting it running but after driving it I couldn't bring myself to sell it. It came with a Renegade kit, a 327 & transmission. After I got it running I kept leaving parts on the roadside. Also, it felt top heavy in turns. So I sold the SBC and all of its bits and pieces. I then proceeded to re-convert it but with a Subaru 6. This thread shows much of the work I did to the car that isn't shown in the 2nd thread.

The next thread will show the Subaru conversion and its related appurtenances. The cradle is built by Ian at Cold Water and the harness was built by Jeff Robenolt. The ECU was also flashed by Jeff to increase performance by Jeff. This is a bare bones car. No radio, A/C-or heat. The windshield is Secruit and new. The window regulators have been converted to the newer style by previous owner. Spall fans. The seatbelts are new but you will need to have them shortened unless you weigh 300 lb's. I never cut them to length thinking the next fella might be BIG. The interior has about $2000 in it. Shift cables are 5/16" by CCC. The exhaust is 17ga SS except for the mufflers. The exhaust has a very sweet note. The materials were over $700 and that was before Stainless went through the roof. The speedometer is a SpeedHut. Since it is GPS coupled the indicated speed is the actual speed. It also has built in timers for 0-60, elevation readout, etc. It has a Dakota digital tri-gauge; fuel pressure, water temp, voltage. This year Subaru 6 used the WRX fuel pump controller which varies with demand. The shifter is MR2. Hell hole was patched by previous owners body man. The body has the dealer rust proofing sprayed in. The transmission is TY754VN2BA which has the 3.90 final drive ratio i.e., 5th is a highway gear. That being said, if you speed shift to 5th you will get just a hint of scratch. It's been that way for 5,000+ miles so I'm guessing a synchro is wearing. This only happens if you shift too quickly into 5th. I will include with this sale another complete TY754VN2BA as insurance. Other models have a 4.44 final drive ratio. 30-35 mpg at 80mph The seats, seat belts, dash, visors & carpet are new. New rear view and side mirrors. The tires look great but sb changed out as they are 10 years old. It is lowered and has no shimmy. Smooth as ice at any speed. 5 lug Boxster wheels. Front tires are 215/40R17; rears are 245/40R17 It handles like a dream. Ask Rudy Nuñez how it well it corners. His ribcage was bruised from the seatbelt digging in on some mountain road! (True story) Never overheats as I kept the 3 row dual pass radiator from its V8 days. Fan controller is a Dakota and is adjustable for your particular needs. Adjustable cup holder mounted on the tunnel. Shifter is aligned with steering wheel (front to back) for ergonomics sake. If you're out of state you can ship it or drive it home with confidence. The car has always been garaged and is located in Southern California. Tons of receipts to go with the car. The only rust that I've found on this car was on a spot weld on the left front brace/gusset that the fuel vapor hoses run through. This brace had a bit of rust on it as it is exposed and directly behind the LF tire. When I ground it off I was a little too aggressive and inadvertently ground a small hole in the long. When I was welding the hole closed some greenish slime oozed out. Evidently it melts with heat so I waited a hour before closing the patch. It was then that I discovered that it had the dealer applied rust proofing as witnessed by the plastic plugs on the body. Evidently the stuff works! I'm offering it here before it goes on the block. The build thread below shows the work done to convert it to the Subaru drive train. $25,000
