At 83 I'm loosing my interest and don't expect to tackle the tail of the dragon, so it's time to put my long time work out there. PPI's welcome, so bring your ice pick oh, and you'll need a hammer. I don't think there's a more solid body out there.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Had the 2L case align bored to specific set of main bearings & decked by very good shop. Now 2056 with 40 Dell's, WEB 494 cam & lifters. Did cam break-in cycle on garage floor rig, re-torqued heads & exhaust headers, & readjusted valve lash. Backdated to SSI stainless H/E's and stock style banana muffler. Oil temp never goes past mid gauge, I have aux oil cooler package the mounts in fender well, but don't need it, so not installed. Cylinder head thermocouple mounted under #3 spark plug and engine runs very cool. Engine runs strong and pulls well at low RPM's. I don't usually bother with 1st gear. Now accumulated about 3k miles. At oil change, cut open the filter & found no chips or anything, did a valve lash check and made a couple minor adjustments. ![]() Re-sprayed in original L30C Bahia red. Tires are 225-50ZR17 front & 235-55ZR17 rear with about 1k miles. New turbo tie rods, has OE front sway bar. has all heat/vent components & new bluetooth radio. Everything works except low fuel warning lite (tank unit bad) All lamps replaced with LED items including headlights. Minor rust repair in hell hole and rear trunk panel replaced. Otherwise only minor surface rust under pedal box. cockpit floors were very good, solid seat hinges. Body kit must have been installed long ago as no evidence of crud buildup under rocker panels. No rust in door bottoms and has waxy coating in there. Here's quick look under longs: Note original jack pads are rust free. ![]() ![]() While I like the wide body kit, this would be a good candidate to restore to original. I can supply lots more images.
