This is probably the best single site to find out if you're correct! ALL of the historians (we have a SHITLOAD!) will be in on this. Be neat to have the very last one... Welcome to the World, tell us the back story. We're all ears! |

Is the highest serial number necessarily the last car built?

Morning gentleman, I spoke to soon. It’s a 71’914/6, threw it on here as a late night thought lol. We suspect it may be the last one built by Porsche, as in the last one from stuttgart. Vin is 9141430443, according to what we’ve been able to find it’s the last one in the registry for 71’ before going to the VW plant. Car was ordered willow green(43) L63E. The car since has been repainted to a chiffon-ish white and glass GT flares added.
Attached is the new spec sheet , porsche doesn’t offer COA’s unless inspected by a classic center:/ Background is the car was found in Japan after sitting for a quite sometime. No real idea why it was repainted but seems like a honest car so far, original interior, nice tub and floors. I’ll follow up with some pics once the rain passes. Thank you guys already for the responses, hopefully we can figure this out! Dan Attached thumbnail(s) |

no the last serial number is not necessarily the last one built. 9142430240 was the last one built and then kept by VOG
Is the highest serial number necessarily the last car built? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) |

Thank you guys already for the responses, hopefully we can figure this out! @rmc miami http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?act...amp;byYear=1971 Scroll to the bottom, there's two members listing the same VIN. Not sure if they were ever active on the forum but might be worth trying to contact them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) |
