Out here in Vegas its Hot ! so I am installing a front oil cooler and was wondering has anyone ever routed the lines through the heater tubes in the longs ? i do not have exchangers so they tubes seem like they would be perfect ?? i will be running the lines down the passenger side just for easy access to the sandwich plate. let me know what you guys think ?

I have a Renagade Subaru conversion. My cooling lines run through the tunnel. When I recently installed an water to air intercooler, we ran the lines through the heater tubes and out the back. Worked great.

Most of the oil lines I've seen are braided and braided will eat sheet metal. Plus braided doesn't bend tight. Plus it's pricey.

I did see a swap that had an oil/water heat exchanger. So the oil stayed in the engine bay and less was needed. The water ran up front to a small radiator with a fan. I've seen enough catastrophic oil hose failures that this made sense.

I'd do all 5/8" and use a Bosch heater pump and a large heater core.

I had a thought..... idea.gif

Run finned oil lines up the heater tubes, and put the oil thermostat at the front of the car. Then put a blower at the rear of the heater tube, and blow air over the finned lines to generate heat for the interior.

In essence, make the heater tubes one long heater core.
