I am like my 13-year-old ( Except I am now 69) self-waiting to get my Schwinn Stingray. It was Plum Crazy Candy Apple Purple.

$50. Brand New in 1964

Fresh RS double wrap Steering to be installed with real late 60s Hockey Puck horn button. I am going with the leather on left, right is vinyl
Left says STUTTGART the Vinyl does not.

8 years younger than you.
didn't get schwinns down here.
(instead dragsters with same size wheels - made by malvern star).

by the time i had saved up the money for a dragster these came out and i grabbed one.
malvern star made them under license.
(heavy as hell - needed the 5 speed t-bar shifter with low 1st to get up a hill).
also got the death wobbles if you pushed down a steep hill at speed.

A few years later I got a Candy Apple Blue Schwinn with a 5-speed stick shift. We used to jump curbs with these boys. Way before BMX bikes came out. I used to hang my newspaper canvas delivery bags.

yeah, thats what our dragsters down here looked like.
copies of those.
and they all had metal flake paint jobs.

the banana seats make "dinking" your friends around two on the bike easy.
the cops used to pull us up and tell the other kid to get off and walk.
(illegal to ride two on a bike).
thats when i started a life of getting into trouble with the law as a road user. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

pretty sure why i like the drop out go faster graphics on my go slower 1.8 is they remind me of the chopper. the best part of the bike was the sticker on the frame.
small front wheel made jumping curbs or potholes deadly.
but it used to pull wheelstands effortlessly, way easier than a dragster.
